TECH Clean California incentives availability
As of December 10, 2024, additional budget for single family heat pump water heater incentives are available! See previous updates
- TECH Clean California offers incentives for single family HVAC and heat pump water heater projects throughout the state of California.
- HEEHRA rebates are now available through TECH Clean California for income-eligible single family and multifamily properties. By working with a HEEHRA-trained TECH Clean California contractor, income-eligible customers can receive a HEEHRA rebate to help further reduce the cost of purchasing qualified energy-efficient equipment. HEEHRA rebates are funded but the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) overseen by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by the California Energy Commission.

New HEEHRA rebates for income-qualified customers now available
Income-qualified customers can receive HEEHRA rebates through TECH Clean California contractors to help further reduce the cost of purchasing energy-efficient equipment.
Onboarding requirements
TECH Clean California incentives and HEEHRA rebates are only available through TECH Clean California contractors who have completed required training.
Heat pump optimization requirements
- Customers receiving a TECH Clean California incentive for a heat pump water heater must also agree to be transitioned to a time-of-use rate. Where available, customers must also be enrolled in a water heater rewards program.
- Customers who receive a TECH Clean California incentive for a heat pump HVAC or a heat pump water heater must enroll in an approved demand response program. Demand response enrollment is not required to receive the HEEHRA rebate.
